THE DWELLING PLACE
Meet Our Faith Family
Harold & Nan Schutte have served as Lead Pastors of The Dwelling Place since March 2023.
Harold began his career as a high school English teacher before answering the call to full-time ministry nearly 50 years ago. Since then, he and Nan have faithfully led several congregations, most of them in Iowa, where they also raised their two children.
In 2015, they relocated to Ohio to be closer to their son Joel and his family, with their daughter Sara following not long after. Today, they are the proud grandparents of nine grandchildren and one great-grandson—family continues to be one of their greatest blessings.
Beyond his pastoral ministry, Harold has served as a chaplain with Marketplace Chaplains USA, St. Vincent's Hospital, and Ohio Living Home and Hospice. Nan has shared her musical talents as a pianist and music director at Church of the Master in Perrysburg, Ohio.
Although retirement has crossed their minds, Harold's deep love for the Lord and for people keeps him in active ministry. His passion for preaching and his desire to see lives transformed through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ remain as strong as ever.
A dwelling place for God. A safe place for people. A launching place for purpose.
Seth and his wife, Katie, have been part of The Dwelling Place community since October 2024.
Seth is passionate about leading others into the presence of God through worship and creating space for people to encounter the Holy Spirit. With experience on worship teams dating back to middle school, his heart for worship runs deep.
Active and engaged in church life, Seth enjoys serving wherever he's needed and contributing to the sense of family at The Dwelling Place. Professionally, he works as a Realtor with The Danberry Company—an organization whose owners are intentionally shaping it into a "Kingdom Company," aligning business with Biblical values.
Family means everything to Seth and Katie, and they're joyfully preparing to welcome their first child in July 2025!
Brenda Leach oversees the food pantry ministry at The Dwelling Place.
A member since 2015, Brenda brought with her years of experience distributing food and toiletry items, including her involvement with a local clothing distribution center at Proclaim FM. That work eventually led her to establish a small pantry at her former church.
When Brenda shared her vision with the pastor at The Dwelling Place, he immediately recognized how well it aligned with the church's existing community meal efforts. Within months, Brenda's dream became a reality. Today, the pantry stands as a vital resource, serving numerous local families facing food insecurity.
The Dwelling Place Statement of Fundamental Truths
The Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. This Statement of Fundamental Truths is intended simply as a basis of fellowship among us (i.e., that we all speak the same thing, 1 Corinthians 1:10 [KJV/NIV]; Acts 2:42 [KJV/NIV]). The phraseology employed in this Statement is not inspired nor contended for, but the truth set forth is held to be essential to a full-gospel ministry. No claim is made that it covers all Biblical truth, only that it covers our need as to these fundamental doctrines.
We believe God still meets people where they are—and we'd love to meet you. Whether you're seeking, struggling, or standing strong, you'll find hope, healing, and home at The Dwelling Place.
We will process the personal data you have supplied in accordance with our privacy policy.
